The first two indicators I chose where two show a direct relation to their development, they said that when the total GDP rises the percent of the population in the service industry will also rise. This is shows development because when a country becomes richer they start to invest more into the service economy and can ship in everything else that they need. My second indicator, which was indirect said that when the total GDP rises the amount of arms exports will also rise. This is because as a country becomes more developed they go into the high mass consumption stage of the Rostow's model of development and begin to produce a surplus of items which they can then sell giving more money to the country and the workers of the arms industry who will then buy more things and eventually improve the economy.
For the first video concerning the GDP and the percent in the service economy I noticed the pattern that the countries that were expanding the most were the one's that already had a booming secondary economic sector. Outliers here would be China because as most of the other countries didn't start expanding rapidly until they hit the 67 mark on the Y axis, while the US and Japan started off earlier around the 50 mark on the Y axis and China started way down by the 35 mark. The US always was big into industry so the turn to the Service sector was not that big, for Japan it got a huge leap with its rebuilding in the post world war area. China had many things happen in the 90's all of them related to modernizing China along with promoting more free enterprise.
The second video was the the GDP and arms exports. Due to the US's large amount of capital and natural resources it quickly held a monopoly on the arms industry. It isn't until well into the 1970s that any of the other countries, Russia and Germany make a jump. Russia along with many other countries made a jump due to the Cold War between NATO and the WARSAW Pact, which created a massive need for weapons.
